This wonderful multi purpose product is made from waste from the woolen industry. Sheep dagging is put into an extruding machine and made into pellets.
The pellets are placed around the base of the plants you want to protect, when they get wet they swell and mat together forming an irritant barrier to slugs that wander off in a huff to eat some weeds.
They are completely harmless to kids, animals and birds and have the added benefit of being a great fertiliser and because they hold twice their own weight in water they reduce the need for watering. See Information Page for details.
Buying a 10 litre tub is great value. It contains nearly 9 kg of slug buggers, enough to cover about 3.5 square metres when spread out, because you use it in a circle around the base of the plants the area of beds it covers is obviously much greater ( I don't quite know how to explain this properly but iit goes a long way!)
